This Year's Model Updates:

Lexus polished up some of the details on the ES 330 for 2005. Revised exterior styling includes a new front and rear appearance with updated lighting and trim. Inside, color revisions and new wood availability keep things fresh. New 17-inch wheels are available in either chrome or alloy finish. A memory function now applies to both the driver and front-passenger seats, and heated and ventilated front seats are a new option. A revised steering wheel with auxiliary audio controls debuts, as does voice activation technology for the optional navigation system.

Pros:
  • Comprehensive array of luxury and convenience features, superb ride quality, silent cabin, advanced safety technology, excellent reputation for reliability.
Cons:
  • Bland driving characteristics, many of the most desirable options are expensive, no split-folding rear seat.

  • Transmission troubles - 2005 Lexus ES 330

The new 5-speed transmission shifts either hard or surges with hesitation. In slow traffic the transmission falls out of gear and then surges and jerks to find the right gear. At this point Lexus refuses to find a fix for the problem with this model that now is recognized by their dealers and service departments.

Great compromise between road performance and luxury. Doesnt handle quite like the TL, but its far more pleasing to sit in. Probably an unfair generalization, but if you are under 40, you buy the TL--if you are over 45, you buy the ES330. If you are 40 to 45, youre on your own.

  • The Best Vehicle - 2005 Lexus ES 330

We bought our vehicle in June and we have now had the vehicle for 6 months. We absoulutely love this vehicle. We cannot be any happier we decided to buy this vehicle. We looked at the TL, Toyota, and BMW. After test driving the Lexus we completely forgot about the other vehicles. The service we receive at Lexus is always impeccable.

  • Great Ride - 2005 Lexus ES 330

This is my first 6 cylinder car ever and what a ride. I took the 05 Avalon Limited for a test drive and although the engine may be more powerful the refinement and luxury of the ES is umatched. From the simplicity of the controls to the real wood throught the cabin. The comfort is unmatched. Owning a Lexus is great. Ive had people comment me on how great the car rides and this is from owners of s500 and the GS300 as well, so that says a lot.

  • Fantastic Voyage - 2005 Lexus ES 330

After owning a few Toyota vehicles, we finally decided to purchase a Lexus. This has been a wonderful experience. The finish and fit are excellent. The steering wheel audio and Navigation controls are a great idea. I was worried about the ride quality with 17 inch wheels but it was not detected after I drove a 2004 with 16 inch wheels. I would like to see a folding rear seat. My wife and I argue as to who drives the car. We truly love this car and will probably purchase another.

I have had my new Lexus just over three weeks. (I had a 2001 ES 300 Lexus.) I really enjoy my new car. I love the way it handles driving in the mountains and curves. The car turns on a dime. The power is available when needed to make a manuever on the freeway. The car is extremely comfortable to ride in. The sound system is really great

  • Happy with the Lexus 330 - 2005 Lexus ES 330

the first thousand miles have been exactly what I expected. At the age of 48 I considered the Acura TL. What you give up in performance and look is more that offset by the older need for comfort and luxury.... My only suggestion is the HP needs to be goosed a little, say to 250-260 HP.

  • love it - 2005 Lexus ES 330

I have had my lexus for only 2 weeks and I love it. Everything about it says luxury. I had a Buick Roadmaster for 12 years and was looking for a car with the same smooth ride the roadmaster had. The ES330 out did all my expectations. Bumps in the road are hardly felt.

  • Im impressed ! - 2005 Lexus ES 330

Im in my middle 50s and this is absolutely the nicest car I have ever owned. The performance is lack luster but that is not why I bought this car. The ride feels like Im riding in my living room easy chair. Ive only had the car for a month but have 4500 miles on it. Ive just returned from a five day, 3000 mile round trip and this car performed flawlessly. Im almost ready for my 5K service and the ONLY problem Ive experienced is some intermitant XM Radio reception. I do not have the hesitation complaint seen frequently on this site. My last new purchase had been a 2000 model GM product and my 5K punch list had 18 items.

awesome , my first lexus. ive owned many bmw, mercedes, porsche , volvo. you cant beat the price and build quality and reliability. once in the car its so quiet, all sound outside is blocked out taking all the stress out of driving. the ride smooth ,nice just like a cadillac. you have to get used to the way it drives and how its geared so plot your coarse but awesome. great gas mileage , meant for long distance for sure. very safe. im going to buy one for my wife , love it.
